What's up at Pacific Harbour?

Our wonderful building needs some love!

The construction at 46VP is winding down, and our neighbors are making good the effects on our assets. We have all been patiently waiting our turn to make improvements to our building. The years have started to get ahead of the care for our building, and we must start addressing the condition of the external common areas:
  • The entry walkway has an unsafe balustrade
  • The portico and some walls require structural repairs
  • The external light upgrade is only partially complete
  • Paint and rendering are faded, worn and mismatched
  • The letterboxes are a shambles
  • Our water, electric, irrigation and control services along the boundary with 46VP is in very poor condition and failing
The SC is actively planning improvements to address these issues. You'll be hearing more from us soon!

Thank you for the comments on the blog.
By way of background - The bore water system, rather than disrepair, had to be turned off some years ago as a result of the water becoming to salty for the garden. The excavation on the property across the road caused the problem. I suspect the excavation at 46 Victoria has aggravated the problem and it is good to see the committee will check this out. The cover box certainly needs replacing.

Thanks for your comment Graham; and sorry for the late reply. As discussed separately, the settings for this post did not send an alert that a comment was made. The related setting has been changed.

Yes, there have been a couple construction sites over the years that have influenced our bore water quality. Despite the poor bore water quality, it would have been prudent to keep it readily operational. The more unfortunate circumstance is that we had been using unrestricted fresh water throughout the drought period with bore water signage prominently posted. Another issue is that we have three garden beds that show signs of failed water seals which causes deleterious effects on surrounding structures. There is much to be done to get the irrigation system in proper working order and the assessment of it forms part of the SC efforts for communicating improvement considerations by the OC.
